Panchakarma

As the name suggests, Pancha in Sanskrit means Five and Karma means therapeutic measures. These are performed for the purification of the body and Ayurveda considers it necessary before the start of any other therapy.

The five procedures of panchakarma are: Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya and Raktamoksha. The kind of panchakarma advised  depends on the physical condition of the person.
